2010 FISHING REPORTS
I did get out on the boat for a couple of days, this past
week/weekend.
John Savasta caught a couple of 20 lb. stripers on Saturday morning (35"
and 37"). Seems the bass are starting to show around Hens and Chickens,
and the south shore. Bob Lachapelle and his nepthew were out at Hen and
Chickens, and the barge, and caught some quality bass, and bluefish.
Bob Lachapelle and Kevin Soulnier were out at Block Island on Saturday
and Sunday, however, they didn't fare very well.
Still some nice scup in the Westport River. Some of the guys fishing
for stripers, in and around the river, are complaining about the scup
stealing the bait on their tubes.
Fished Two-Mile Rock, and caught a bunch of small tog. Haven't seen
any sea bass. I hear that fishermen are complaining about the lack of
qualifty fluke, out at Lucas. A lot of undersized fluke are being
taken at the mouth of the river. Unfortunately, a lot of people are
keeping them.
Well, that's about it. I'm hoping that we can get out to do some
fishing, in the near future.
